Once upon a time .....................
CHRIS and OLLIE got together and started trying to learn some SONGS for a bit of fun. This was back in 2001, nothing really serious just a couple of mates chilling out and having a bit of a laugh.
One day in CHRIS' parent's garage, a SONG was written - the song was 'CRAZY MAYBE'. Nothing really was thought about it until a few weeks later when the song was played to a GIRLFRIEND of the time - she said she quite liked it. She was found SINGING it about an HOUR LATER after only one listen. From this moment on, things were looked at a little differently.

CHRIS and OLLIE started writing more stuff, some pretty darn awful and some not too bad. With a bit of a dream in mind OLLIE quit his full time job to pursue stardom and fame in the BAND. Problem was there really wasn't a BAND. The guys rehearsed whenever possible and got about 10 songs together.
Enter DAVE: OLLIE and DAVE randomly BUMPED into each other in late November 2001 in a rather drunk night out in Folkestone. In a slurred conversation, OLLIE said that he wanted to start a band. DAVE had the drum skills and wanted to PLAY.

The BAND was starting to take shape but it still had no name.
Picture the Scene - OLLIE, hanging off the end of the bed, its 3am in the morning and a rare moment of inspiration happens.....**REALM 79**
It stuck and it's still here 6 years later.

2002 - DAVE, CHRIS and OLLIE record their first album with the help of GREG PASTANA. The album was called 'PROXIMITY' and had 9 tracks on it including 'CRAZY MAYBE'. This album is still available!!
Armed with the ALBUM and a new bassist, REALM79 went out looking for gigs and had their first gig at 'The Happy Frenchman', in Folkestone. It was awesome and the REALM79 carried on gigging locally for the next year.

2004 - OLLIE moves to Oxford and the REALM79 sleeps for a year. zzzzzzzz

2005 - OLLIE arrives back from Oxford and can still sing! Over the next year CHRIS, DAVE and OLLIE put REALM79 back together in a slightly DIFFERENT set up. DAVE on piano, CHRIS on acoustic guitar.
It was new, a bit NOVEL and was aimed at pubs and private functions - It was something for everyone.....and it WORKED!

2005 - First gig as a 3 PIECE in September for CHRIS' dad's 60th. Did some private parties and Christmas events and from that the ball started ROLLING.

2007 - NICK joins the REALM79 - NICK plays BASS. DAVE was longing to get back on his drums and CHRIS' Fender was climbing out its old bag. It was all about the Rock and Roll.
The NEW SET LIST has been in rehearsal for 4 months now, with new material being added all the time. REALM79 have done their first official full wedding gig, which was fantastic and have got another wedding lined up in the near future. They want as many gigs in as possible (as long as CHRIS isn't on holiday!!)
REALM79.CO.UK is launched, thanks to this chap called ROB HUGHES who designed it all - lots more is being added to the site, so keep checking back.

THE FUTURE - REALM79 - CHRIS, DAVE, NICK and OLLIE are looking forward to becoming a well established band in Kent. The bigger the gig, the better. They have dreams to play to large audiences of over a thousand - it's not happened yet....hopefully soon....
